His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai said “The National Anthem of the UAE is not only about music, but it is a symbol of our national identity and the unity of the nation. It is an expression of our cohesion and love for our country and dedication to serve our nation. We call upon our people to work so that our national anthem will be around everywhere and in every occasion.”

With these words, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid underscored the importance of the national anthem for each Emirati and resident in the UAE. This came in conjunction with His Highness’s invitation to celebrate the UAE Flag Day on the third of November.

Considered as one of the one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world,       The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra took part in celebrating the UAE Flag this year by recording the music of the UAE National Anthem. The Orchestra was founded in the middle of the last century, and is famous for playing for recording music of international events and movies.

More than 70 musicians in the orchestra played the national anthem of the UAE and used more than 15 types of musical instrument. Maestro Harout Fazlian was the lead Conductor and who holds a Ph.D. degree in Music Education.  You can watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YomWOWQIzbU

What distinguishes the recording of the UAE national anthem is standardizing the music as well as developing a unified musical note. It can be downloaded from the website of the UAE Cabinet website (www.uaecabinet.ae).

The national anthems goes back in history to the second of December of 1971, when the late Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid founded the UAE and they decided to develop a national anthem for the UAE to infuse spirit of loyalty and belonging to the homeland, and encourage every person to make utmost effort to serve the nation. Saad Abdel Wahab composed it in the same year and ever since the national anthem is part of everyday life.

The national anthem is not just about the tunes, it is a symbol of the nation and its memory that embodies challenges, determination and success.

The national anthem is the backbone of the UAE people and its identity that is inherited through generations and utilized in every occasion locally and internationally and through their efforts to serve the nation
