In collaboration with Kuttab Publishing, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library organized the official launch and signing ceremony of the book UAE Through Arab Eyes”. This book offers an in-depth exploration of the UAE’s development journey, seen through the perspectives of 16 distinguished Arab authors.

The event was graced by the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Al Murr, Chairman of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, alongside several board members. Writers, intellectuals, and book enthusiasts also attended the occasion, contributing to the vibrant atmosphere. The authors of the book, Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi, Founder of Barjeel Art Foundation, and Dr. Abdulkhaleq Abdulla, a respected academic and professor, were hosted by Jamal Al Shehhi in an enriching discussion about the UAE’s experience in sustainable development.

The event began with a short video featuring several of the contributing writers, who shared their reflections on the UAE and the transformative experiences they had within the country. Each writer expressed deep appreciation for the opportunities the UAE has provided and acknowledged its pivotal role in fostering regional development.

The authors highlighted that the book was born out of ongoing discussions on the importance of documenting personal experiences within the UAE. The narrative is built around human stories that intertwine themes of coexistence, tolerance, and how the UAE has become an inspiring model for success.

Al Murr emphasized the crucial role literature plays in documenting the lives and experiences of different peoples. Drawing from his personal experience with his own short story collection Dubai Tales”, he underscored how literature enables readers to understand societies, much like the works of literary giants such as Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Charles Dickens, and Naguib Mahfouz, who have provided insightful reflections of their own societies.

After the session, the book “UAE Through Arab Eyes” was officially signed by the authors, marking the conclusion of the event.
