Union Properties Launches First Duathlon During Annual Ramadan Challenge At Dubai Autodrome
Union Properties, the leading property developer in the UAE and master developer of MotorCity, marked a successful conclusion of its second annual Ramadan sports event with its first Ramadan Duathlon Challenge hosted at the Dubai Autodrome in Dubai MotorCity.
Over 500 participants of all fitness levels and ages, including People of Determination took part across six different categories in the athletic duathlon that featured an over-two hour run-cycling-run race during the first weekend of Ramadan. The race consisted of three stages – a 5 km running leg followed by a 20 km cycling leg and a final 2.5 km running leg.

Union Properties hosted the duathlon challenge to encourage residents to regularly exercise and plan activities after Iftar. We look forward to organizing and hosting many more such initiatives for Union Properties residents and the wider community.”
Among the winners, Hamad Al Omran clinched the top spot in the Emirati Individuals category, while in the Emirati Juniors category, 15-year-old Hamdan Al Raj came up trumps and took home the gold. Asma Al Janahi was the first and only Emirati female to participate and placed sixth in the Emirati Individuals category.
Team ‘Rusty Cranks’ was awarded in the Open Team category. In the Open Individuals category, Oscar Marquez bagged the first prize, while Mihir Bathija, aged 14 was declared victorious in the Open Juniors category.
Each of the competitors received participation medals, while Kawther Alhamed, Human Resources and Administration Director at Union Properties, awarded the winning athletes with prizes worth over AED10,000 courtesy of Dubai Autodrome.
