Taking a traditional and patriotic turn to celebrate the 88^th Saudi National Day, Boxpark, the hip urban destination by Meraas, showcased the classic Emirati Al Ayala victory dance through roaming performances much to the delight of visitors. The ‘stick dance’, featuring two rows of men standing face-to-face, chanting traditional Bedouin tunes and waving their sticks to the rhythmic beat of drums, was enlisted on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list in 2014.
