Viu, a leading pan-regional OTT video service from PCCW Media Group with more than 41 million monthly active users, is set to release six highly anticipated Viu Original productions on its platform in this year’s month of Ramadan. Starring some of the region’s most renowned TV icons, the series will tell unconventional and unique local stories with international-quality production.

The line-up includes Sultanet El Moez, Shahed Ayan, Gama’ Salem, El Khawabi and Reyah El Somoum. The shows will be streamed exclusively on Viu throughout  Ramadan, with an episode released each day of the month. The 35-minute episodes will be packed with action, suspense, drama as well as comical moments.

In line with Viu’s commitment to create gripping Pan-Arab content, the streaming platform has secured a star-studded line up of shows for Ramadan. Arab stars that will feature in the Viu Originals include renowned Egyptian actor Hassan El Raddad, one of Egypt’s most popular young actors, and Hana Shiha, who is known for appearing in various regional hit series. El Raddad and Shiha will star in the Viu Original Shahed Ayan. Egyptian actor and model, Zeina, is also set to come back to her millions of fans in the Viu Original Gama’ Salem. Since her debut in 1995, Zeina has taken on several leading appearances in popular Ramadan series.

Other stars are set to appear on Viu for the second year running following Viu’s successful Ramadan 2019 series. TV icons include Ghada Abdelrazek, one of Egypt’s most celebrated actors and star of Hadouta Morra, one of Viu’s best performing titles in 2019.

Viewers have credited Viu’s previous Ramadan releases as some of the most intriguing shows and the platform’s success has not gone unnoticed. Zodiac, one of Viu’s Original shows for Ramadan, received recognition at the NRJ Egypt Radio Ramadan Drama Awards in 2019. Thisaward-winning Viu Original was also named OTT Production of the Year at the ASBU BroadcastPro Awards 2019 for the second year in a row, and Viu was awarded Content Delivery Platform of the Year at the annual Digital Studio Awards 2019.
