“Artezaar” founded by two women, Teena Thawani  and Leena Kewlani, both are self taught Artists on a mission to make Art accessible to all. The website was initially conceptualized because being artists themselves, they faced a struggle to sell and showcase their work. The website aims to  support the Artist community of UAE and to bring together the entire art ecosystem, where any type of art buyer can see and buy original artworks from flourishing artists, offering artworks to fit budgets, styles and personalities.

In January 2019, both the founders decided to quit their  jobs and build on their dream to launch www.artezaar.com with months of dedication, research and sheer hard work. The user-friendly website took shape and went live from mid April 2019 and since then has attracted close to 60 artists, with over 400 artpieces registered to showcase and sell online in the UAE.

Although many think buying original art is overly expensive because they hear about the multimillion-dollar auctions, get blindsided by the number of zeros in the press announcements, or driven away seeing the heavy-weight label put up on the gallery walls, where as in reality the hidden emerging and upcoming artists create gorgeous pieces of work at really decent reasonable prices. 

Artezaar stays true to its mission of supporting the artists community and has kept  no registration fees for artists who want to register online and showcase their work.  Artists can easily access the site to register and upload their works, provided they pass the reviewing process, which abides by the UAE law and also keeps a close quality control check on all artworks published on the site. Artezaar is also committed to showcasing Youth artworks below 18 years of age, with their youngest artist being only 5 years old. Working hand in hand with the parents, Artezaar believes in nurturing the young future talents of the UAE, and giving them a platform to grow and exhibit their work with pride. Artezaar is a online platform that appeals to all budgets, from artworks that are below AED 500 to pieces that go above AED 20,000.

Leena Kewlani comes with 22 years of media experience, where she has worked extensively on building Branded Content and Influencer Marketing industries across the MENA region with her peers. She headed up Content and Production at both Wavemaker and Digital Media Services (Choueiri Group) in the last 12 years. From business strategy, influencer marketing and management, project management to producing TV and digital content, she has worked with clients and media partners on partnerships and distribution strategies that enable both clients and creators to deliver what is ultimately the best content led solution for a brand’s growth.

Teena Thawani comes with 14 years of significant experience in the conferences, events and exhibitions industry with successful conceptualizing, planning and execution of mid-large scale profitable events in global markets – across multiple industries – few of her events include Gulfood Conference, Gitex Conference, Women in Leadership Forum, Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES-EVA) Dubai, World Food Security Forum, to name a few.
