Zidoun-Bossuyt Officially Unveils In Dubai
Zidoun-Bossuyt, leaders in introducing some of the most influential Afro-American artists to Paris and Luxembourg, has officially unveiled its exclusive stand-alone Dubai Gallery on March 7, 2022. On this occasion, a pool of artists from different generations and cultures reflecting the gallery’s diverse program are showcasing their work. Noel W. Anderson (USA), Martine Feipel & Jean Bechameil (Luxembourg), Louis Granet (France), Yashua Klos (USA), John Madu (Nigeria), Mustafa Maluka (South Africa), Tomokazu Matsuyama (USA), Jayson Scott Musson (USA), Jeff Sonhouse (USA), Summer Wheat (USA) and Thomas Zitzwitz (Germany) among others.
Having participated in the Middle East’s leading International art fair, Art Dubai for 5 years, Zidoun-Bossuyt has now decided to expand to Dubai – a hub for artists to grow and with multi-cultural exposure to diversify –aiming to reinforce the strong international positioning of the gallery in the art world and to attract a new regional clientele.
Artists exhibiting their work at Zidoun-Bossuyt Dubai include Noel W. Anderson, New-York based artist famous for his tapestries and manipulated images artist, John Madu, Nigerian multi-disciplinary artist known for his figurative symbolic style of paintings, Tomokazu Matsuyama, New-York based artist celebrated for interweaving the canons of East and West and Summer Wheat, New-York based artist known for her vibrant paintings, multifaceted sculptures, and immersive installations among others.
In 2013, Nordine Zidoun and Audrey Bossuyt joined forces to form Zidoun-Bossuyt which reflects well their respective origins and experiences. Nordine Zidoun first opened an art gallery in Paris and moved it to Luxembourg in 2008. Audrey Bossuyt is a former independent art adviser, who started her career in the art world by working at the Xavier Hufkens Gallery in Brussels for six years before providing art advisory services in London. Nordine is French, Audrey is Belgian and they converged in Luxembourg to share their passion and experience in the contemporary art world. Nine years into it, they are now celebrating the opening of their first regional gallery in Dubai.
Zidoun-Bossuyt Gallery gallery is known for having introduced some of the most influential Afro-American artists to Luxembourg at a time when they were still relatively unknown as for example Njideka Akunyili Crosby, Wangechi Mutu, Jeff Sonhouse and Terry Adkins. The Luxembourg gallery organizes six exhibitions a year and alongside its contemporary program and holds one historical show every two years. The first one was dedicated to Jean-Michel Basquiat in May 2016. In September 2017, the gallery organized the first historical show of Jean Dubuffet in Luxembourg featuring more than 50 works of the artist. In January 2019, the gallery organized a Keith Haring show. These exhibitions were placed under the patronage of the Prime Minister and Minister of Culture of Luxembourg.
Located on Jumeirah Road, Zidoun-Bossuyt is now officially open for all art enthusiasts in the city with a full program throughout the year.
