Tourism industry stakeholders urged to take responsibility for sustainabili
Abu Dhabi, 14th Oct 2010 — Professor Harold Goodwin, Director of the UK’s International Centre for Responsible Tourism, a world leading expert on responsible tourism, is urging key industry stakeholders to accept responsibility for advancing a sustainable agenda and is joining a growing lobby which will press the case at next month’s World Green Tourism Abu Dhabi.
Professor Goodwin says the Abu Dhabi conference, which will run at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from November 22-24, could be a platform for change.
“For too long the major stakeholders have failed to take responsibility for their impacts and for making their businesses more economically, socially and environmentally sustainable,â€
says Prof. Goodwin. “Sustainable development, sustainable tourism, sustainability have all too often been dismissed as someone else’s responsibility – there has been a failure to act. Businesses have argued that it is for others to solve the problems.†he added

I stayed at the InterContinental for a week and must say that it was a fantastic stay. The staff was very friendly and efficient. The hotel is located next to a great mall and marina, there is plenty to do. Besides the hotels fantastic Restaurants there are many others nearby. The view from the Lobby bar is amazing, especially for sunsets. The rooms are well appointed and large. I also liked the fact that you could walk around the area and there are some great jogging trails nearby.
the free Wifi in the lobby and public areas was a great addition.
