With the Holy Month of Ramadan right around the corner, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism) has compiled a month-long calendar of mall eventsand experiences to bring loved ones together across the city.

Running from 17 May through to the close of Ramadan, there will be a whole host of activities for residents and visitors to enjoy, including mall activations, charitable initiatives, iftaar and suhoor promotions and events.

Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO, Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), said: “Ramadan in Dubai is a special time of year as it gives people of all nationalities and backgrounds the chance to come together and enjoy all that the city has to offer. To give residents and visitors even more options, our retail partners across the city are putting out an array of activities and experiences for everyone to enjoy and embrace the Holy Month. Shoppers can also make the most of the extended mall and shop timings and retailer promotions to shop for clothes, accessories and gifts for Eid.”

Below, DFRE highlights some of the key activities taking place across the city so you can make the most of sharing beautiful moments this Ramadan.

MALL ACTIVATIONS

Dubai Festival City Mall

Dubai Festival City Mall (DFCM) has joined hands with Disney to connect UAE residents with their friends and families around the world through an extraordinary “Magical Wishing Well”. Shoppers at DFCM will be invited to register a greeting at one of the Disney pods throughout the mall, before proceeding to Festival Square to watch their message appear in the beautiful Disney Magical Wishing Well.  The greeting will then be captured as a photo and sent to their loved ones.

For every greeting shared, DFCM will donate one AED to the Basma Campaign at the Al Jalila Foundation – a global philanthropic organisation founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The donation will be invested into medical research, education and treatment in the UAE. Don’t miss out on this one of a kind activation that is sure to leave a lasting impression on you and your loved ones.

Al Seef

Throughout the holy month, visitors to Al Seef can look forward to family entertainment every weekend, including an oud player, tanoor dancer, storyteller, sous vendor and henna artist. Additionally, Ramadan Night Markets will take place over Iftar and Suhoor time. Al Seef will also support the #GiftAsmile charity in partnership with the Beit Al Kheir society. The mall will have donation boxes, gift a smile booths and charity reading booths.

Mall of the Emirates

For the occasion of Ramadan, Mall of the Emirates will be installing themed décor throughout the mall. In addition, visitors can take part in the annual ‘Make a Difference this Ramadan’ charity campaign. The mall will be collected unused items (books, toys and clothing) at specially marked donation bins, in partnership with The Red Crescent in order to give back to needy families in the community.

Mercato

Mercato will be filled with activity to embrace the holy month. The “Share Your Blessings” charity initiative in partnership with The Red Crescent will allow people to give back through placing pre-loved items, daily necessities and non-perishable food in donation boxes in the mall. Other activities taking place include Ramadan story time, creative workshops, roaming entertainment, Ramadan pop-up markets and the ARTE Market.

IFTAAR AND SUHOOR OFFERS

Seven Sands, THE BEACH, Jumeirah Beach Residence

This Ramadan, the Emirati cuisine specialists, Seven Sands will take diners on a gastronomic journey across the Emirates. Running daily from sunset until 9pm, the Ramadan menu offers authentic Emirati dishes such as the UAE specialty, Lamb Haris, the flavourful Bedouin dish, Chicken Margougah, the classic Ouzi Aishu Lahem, as well as a selection of sweet treats including the restaurant’s signature Seven Sands Date Pudding. After Iftar, guests can enjoy a range of shishas on the terrace overlooking the Arabian Gulf. The suhoor set menu includes traditional Emirati dishes such as Fouga, Harees, Legemat and Aseeda Bobar, and will be served from 9pm onwards. There will also be an à la carte menu available.

Iftar buffet: AED 155 per person including soft beverages; 50% off for children aged 6-12 and children below 6 dine for free

Suhoor: Set menu for AED 147 per person. An a la carte menu and shisha will also be available

Besh Turkish Kitchen, Sheraton Mall of the Emirates

Enjoy the season with friends and family around a lavish Turkish iftar at Besh, which will offer a selection of light and nutritious hot and cold mezze and salads before a collection of Turkish pide, grills and sweet treats. Post iftar, shop the night bazaar and relax on the terrace with Turkish tea and suhoor.

Iftar buffet: AED 111 per person for the first 10 days of Ramadan; AED 155 per person the remaining days of Ramadan; AED 135 per person for groups of 10-40 people; AED 125 per person for groups of 40+ people, AED 70 for little Besh fans (aged 6 – 12 years); children five years and below are free. Suhoor: An a la carte menu will be available

Carluccio’s

Carluccio’s will offer iftar with an Italian twist this Ramadan. Across all UAE outlets including Dubai Mall, Marina Mall, Ibn Battuta and Mirdiff City Centre, the two or three course menus will be the perfect way to break the fast with friends and family. Enjoy a range of starters, mains and deserts including calamari fritters and chicken pasta soup to start, homemade lasagne and lamb shank for mains and chocolate bread and butter pudding plus traditional gelato to round your meal off.

Iftar: AED 99 for two courses and AED 119 for three courses

Dubai Festival City Mall

Make your Ramadan nights more memorable at Dubai Festival City Mall. Enjoy Iftar with loved ones as you gaze out over a stunning sunset view, and watch the unmissable IMAGINE show.

Al Seef, Boxpark, Citywalk, La Mer and The Beach

This Ramadan, Al Seef, City Walk, The Beach, Boxpark and La Mer will offer Dubai’s residents and tourists a selection of over 55 delicious Iftar and suhoor options. The destinations’ eclectic range of eateries will serve up a melange of local and international cuisines to satisfy even the most discerning palates. Throughout the holy month, visitors to the Meraas retail spaces can also pick up a “Your Ramadan Guide” booklet which will include exclusive Iftar and Suhoor offers at a variety of restaurants. Visitors can grab the booklet from customer service hubs that will also offer complimentary dates at Iftar time.

ACTIVITIES

To mark the Maghrib (sunset) prayer time and start of Iftar, Dubai Police will be firing the daily cannon at Mina al Salam, Burj Khalifa, City Walk Dubai, Musallah Al Eid -Al Mankhool, Al Mizhar (2), Musalla Al Eid-Nayef.
