Dust off your helmet because Dubai’s favourite way to get around is back. Careem, the region’s first Super App has announced the relaunch of its BIKE service across Dubai.

Around the world, cycling is proving to be an important transport alternative. Careem has therefore set global benchmarks with its sanitation steps and approach to make sure Careem BIKE is a safe and reliable transport option that customers can use in Dubai.

Here are the new safety guidelines and instructions in place for Careem BIKE:

  • Daily disinfection of the bikes: Careem’s on-ground team are cleaning and disinfecting each bike with industry approved chemicals every day
  • Disposable gloves at every station: Users can easily pick up a pair of protective gloves from the dispensers at each station if they aren’t wearing their own. It is mandatory for each rider to wear protective gloves when using a Careem BIKE
  • Disinfectant spray For added safety: Careem has placed a bottle of industry-approved disinfectant spray for riders to use to clean the bike
  • Hand sanitizer dispensers: All stations are equipped with a hand sanitizer dispenser for riders to use before and after each ride

Prices remain at AED 20 for one day, AED 50 for a weekly membership, AED 75 for a monthly membership and AED 420 for one year (less than AED 2 per day).

Careem BIKE has 800 pedal-assisted machines located at 80 ‘docking stations’, beside metro stations and tourist spots such as Dubai Marina, Dubai Water Canal and the Palm Jumeirah, and urban and business centres including Jumeirah Lakes Towers, The Greens and Media City.
