Indonesia is ready to showcase the nation’s image as a promising and rich in highly competitive human resources country through a series of National Day events at Expo 2020. Through art and cultural performances, National Day Indonesia will attract more visitors to get to know more about the advantages that Indonesia has to offer to the world. President Joko Widodo will also be present to give a speech and witness the show firsthand.

“This activity is a golden opportunity for Indonesia to show the nation’s superiority to the world. Indonesia will appear as a country full of natural charm with quality human resources. Indonesia also has the opportunity to become one of the 5 countries with the largest economies in the world with a demographic bonus in 2045. This opportunity is built from young generations who are prepared to become superior resources,”said the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia Muhammad Lutfi.

The National Day event itself is part of a series of Expo activities that are given to 192 participating countries to showcase their unique culture. Indonesia’s National Day will take place on Thursday, November 4, 2021, with the theme “Land of Diversity”. This is to show Indonesia as a diverse nation.

This diversity can be seen in terms of ancestral heritage consisting of ethnicity, culture, and language shown through performances combining traditional and modern dances, as well as graphic performances. This diversity is also expressed in the potentials that Indonesia has in various sectors, such as trade, investment, and tourism.

The big theme of “Land of Diversity” is broken down into three elements, namely “Land of Majesty”, “Land of Opportunity”, and “Land of Innovation”. “Land of Majesty” describes the richness of Indonesian culture that will always be the pride of the country. “Land of Opportunity” illustrates Indonesia’s great potential to continue to be open to various opportunities within the nation. “Land of Innovation” describes the country’s readiness to transform towards Indonesia Gold 2045, which will be a milestone for the nation’s economy thanks to the demographic bonus, when the majority of the population is of productive age.

To convey this message properly and completely to the global community, the performance of Indonesian arts and culture on National Day will involve at least a hundred of the nation’s best dancers to perform a variety of traditional dances to local musical performance.

In addition, this performance will also involve LyodraGinting, a young Indonesian singer who has won many national and international competitions, singing the song “Indonesia Pusaka”. Not to forget, Indonesia will also present an icon wearing all-gold costume as a representation of Indonesia Gold 2045.

“Indonesian culture has received worldwide attention and praise from time to time. Therefore, we involve the nation’s best talents to make this activity one of the grandest and most memorable Indonesian cultural arts performances in the Middle East. In addition, the involvement of the best talents is also a representation of the superiority of Indonesia’s human resources who are highly competitive and able to compete globally. It is not impossible that this will also be an opportunity for them to show their talents in this global event,” Minister Lutfi explained.

Lutfi added Indonesia’s National Day will be more special because it will be held at Al Wasl Plaza, the most strategic location at Expo 2020. Al Wasl Plaza will be the center of activities for the National Day as a whole, so the Indonesian show will attract the attention of many eyes. Therefore, Indonesian cultural performances on National Day are expected to attract around 2,000 visitors from all over the world. This opportunity cannot be separated from the close relationship between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates that has existed for a long time and is further strengthened by the Negotiations on the Indonesia-United Arab Emirates Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IUEA-CEPA).

By attracting the attention of thousands of visitors, this will open up more opportunities for representatives of countries to come to the Indonesian Pavilion and learn more about the country’s potential and advantages in various sectors. Moreover, Indonesia’s National Day does not only focus on cultural diversity, but also shows Indonesia’s capability in maximizing its potential to maximize opportunities in advancing the nation. That way, Indonesia will have more opportunities to establish strategic cooperation with countries around the world.

Participation in Expo 2020 is a commitment for Indonesia as part of the global community and the world economy. Through this event that unites 192 countries, Indonesia has the opportunity to strengthen its role in the world. The National Day celebration is also expected to show the charm of Indonesia as a country with various potentials and opportunities.
