When you think about it, this title does make sense. In this world, there are many different categories of people when it comes to cleanliness.

There are those who are so addicted to the fact that they need to have a clean house, not a spot of dirt or anything that makes their house look un-clean whereas there are others who have absolutely no concern whether their house is dirty or clean and then there are those who fall in the middle.

One probably thinks that by cleaning the whole house and by cleaning every nook and cranny that have made it spotlessly clean, but the question is that is it a germ-free house? Germs can still form in places that we least expect them to be formed.

Manar Alkassar, Managing Director of Helpling which is a cleaning service provider in the Middle East said that good hygiene is a must for every household as it helps to prevent illness and diseases and so that’s why every household should practice good hygiene.

Alkassar has listed the kitchen sink, toothbrush, remote control and computer keyboard as the most likely places to be affected with infectious germs and bacteria.

The kitchen sink is on top of the list and can be dirtier than the toilet bowl because most people tend to use disinfectants for toilet bowls whereas they just rinse dishes with water and soap. As a result the food particles form and are a cause for bacteria. The solution to this is sanitizing the sink with a solution of bleach.

Our own toothbrush is also an example. We use it twice or thrice a day and then we rinse it and keep it. But then we don’t realize that the toilet lid which might be open can send germ droplets when flushed. The best solution for this would be to leave the brush somewhere where there is air and can dry and not too close to the toilet and to change the brush regularly especially after recovering from an illness.

The remote control, which is probably the thing that is most touched at home can be the one with the most germs according to studies. People drop it, stuff it between the sofas, sneeze and cough and when shared spreads a lot of bacteria. The best solution to avoid this is to take an alcohol or bleach wipe and clean the remote control with it and also wash your hands regularly to avoid germs.

The last one is the keyboard which one uses for the computer. Many people sometimes eat, drink, cough and sneeze near their computer. These can lead to a lot of diseases. The best solution for this would be to wash and clean your hands before and after using the computer. Also clean the keyboard with bleach or alcohol wipe.

Other than these things, there are many other things as well. It’s recommended to wash your face, eyes and mouth after you come back from a public place and avoid touching them after you’ve been from crowded places.
